Individualized Study (BIS)

Program Description

Since 1975, the Bachelor of Individualized Study (BIS) program has been Mason’s adult degree completion program focused only on adult learners and their individual educational goals. Designed as a flexible degree‑completion program for adult learners who want to finish their bachelor’s degree on their own terms.

Offered 100% online through the School of Individualized Study at George Mason University, this interdisciplinary program allows students to design a personalized academic pathway aligned with their professional goals, prior coursework, and life experience.

Ideal for students age 25 and older with transfer credits, the BIS program emphasizes career advancement, preparation for graduate study, and lifelong learning, providing individualized advising and a supportive, adult‑focused learning environment.

Data Analytics (Graduate Certificate)

Program Description

Data analytics engineering has become an important activity for addressing Big Data and analytics required to solve problems and acquire valuable insights. The online Graduate certificate in Data Analytics engineering from George Mason University provides you with both knowledge and experience for working and solving real-world data analytics engineering problems. The certificate is a career enabler for students and working professionals that are interested in acquiring skills to expand the focus and scope of their current problem solving capabilities in the context of Big Data.

Program Description

This fully online Concentration in Physical Education is designed for practicing health and physical education teachers with the purpose of advancing their knowledge and teaching/research skills. Kinesiology: Tactical Athlete Strength, Conditioning and Injury Prevention (Graduate Certificate)

Program Description

The Kinesiology Graduate Certificate in Tactical Athlete Strength, Conditioning and Injury Prevention prepares professionals to enhance the performance, resilience, and injury prevention of tactical athletes, including emergency responders and public safety personnel.

The Tactical Athlete Strength, Conditioning and Injury Prevention Graduate Certificate features a 6 course, 18 credit, 75% online curriculum. The mission of the certificate program is to provide graduates with foundational knowledge, skills and abilities to become leaders in tactical strength, conditioning and injury prevention. The curriculum covers content focused on improving the health, fitness and resiliency of emergency responders (i.e., Tactical Athletes). U.S. Law (LLM)

Program Description

The LLM in U.S. Law provides foreign‑trained lawyers with a comprehensive understanding of the U.S. legal system through a flexible, 100% online graduate program.

Offered by George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School, this LLM is specifically designed for international attorneys and non‑U.S. law graduates seeking to strengthen their legal expertise, improve English‑language legal skills, and pursue eligibility for U.S. bar exams, including in California and Washington State. The program allows professionals to advance their legal careers while continuing to work, delivering practical training in U.S. law, legal reasoning, and bar‑focused coursework.
