Health Administration (BS)

Program Description

The Health Systems Management concentration in the BS, Health Administration degree prepares graduates to serve in entry-level management, administrative and support positions in a variety of health-related organizations and settings.

Concentrations are offered in health systems management, assisted living/senior housing administration, and health informatics.

Computer Game Design (BFA)

Program Description

The BFA in Computer Game Design enables students to focus on the artistic components of computer game design while providing them with the technical skills prerequisite to the field.  Required courses include computer science, art and visual technology, music, the humanities, and computer game design. The required internship provides students with practical experience that enhances their employability post-graduation. Students study both the sciences and the arts, all in a revolving-role team-based, project-based new pedagogical environment.

Psychology (BA/BS)

Program Description

The Department of Psychology offers both a Bachelors of Science (BS) and a Bachelor of Arts (BA), either of which can be completed 100% online.

The Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Psychology focuses on math and science within the psychology field. A broad range of courses includes social psychology, abnormal psychology, cognitive psychology and biopsychology, as well as several of the department’s special topics courses such as forensic psychology and romantic relationships.

The Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Psychology focuses on liberal arts and general education courses including a foreign language requirement, within the psychology field. A broad range of courses includes social psychology, abnormal psychology, cognitive psychology and biopsychology, as well as several of the department’s special topics courses such as forensic psychology and romantic relationships.

Business (BS)

Information Technology (BS)

Program Description

This bachelor’s degree program prepares students to apply IT to support business processes by producing graduates with strong problem-solving, writing, and communication skills who successfully compete for technical employment and are prepared for advanced study. Graduates are expected to achieve improved organizational objectives; progress through increasing levels of responsibility in the workplace; demonstrate ethical, social, and professional responsibility consistent with professional societies; work effectively in teams; and grow through self-study, continuing education, and professional development.

Nursing (RN to BSN and Co-enrollment Programs)

Program Description

The RN to BSN  program allows registered nurses to progress quickly through the BSN program while meeting the objectives of the undergraduate curriculum.  RNs can complete the BSN program  in as little as two semesters.

The Co-enrollment BSN program allows students to begin taking online classes toward a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree while enrolled in an Associate of Applied Science nursing degree (AAS-Nursing) program at a partner Virginia community college. Applicants can earn their BSN in as little as one-semester after completing the AAS-Nursing degree and obtaining their RN license.

Both programs are 10 courses (30 credit hours), completely online, and can be taken on a full-  or part-time basis. Course offerings vary by term and are typically offered in a 7-week format, so students are expected to plan accordingly.  Courses include research, leadership and management, and health assessment.

Technology and Innovation (BAS)

Mason’s Bachelor of Applied Science Degree (BAS) is a unique program created specifically for students who have earned an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree. Designed with the adult-learner in mind, but open to students of all ages, the BAS degree offers a flexible learning experience for students.

This degree is ideal for those who desire to gain workplace and industry-wide technical competencies, complete a bachelor’s degree, and enhance personal earning potential. Coursework will build business know-how and information technology skills in preparation for the global business place.

Program Description

The Bachelor of Applied Science is an undergraduate liberal arts degree program for adult learners. Designed to foster critical thinking, analytic reasoning, and an ability to synthesize information, the BAS meets students’ professional and personal goals while developing a depth of knowledge and proficiency of skill that translates well to the workplace. Adult learners who desire to understand the complex nature of managing health care and social service programs will benefit from this program. This concentration is in collaboration with the College of Public Health.

Cybersecurity (BAS)

Program Description

Mason’s Bachelor of Applied Science Degree (BAS) is a unique program created specifically for students who have earned an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree. Designed with the adult-learner in mind, but open to students of all ages, the BAS degree offers a flexible learning experience for students.

Offered in collaboration with Volgenau School of Engineering, this concentration is only available to students graduating from Northern Virginia Community College, Lord Fairfax Community Colleges, Tidewater Community College, or Germanna Community College with an AAS in Cyber Security or an AAS in Information Systems Technology with a Cyber Security Career Studies Certificate.
