Commitment to all learners
Assistive Technology Initiative (ATI) and Disability Services (DS) are both dedicated to accommodating student needs. This ensures a welcoming and accessible learning experience for all members of Mason’s diverse community.
Assistive Technology Initiative (ATI)
ATI’s mission is to help provide an accessible university environment for individuals with disabilities. ATI supports access to technological, architectural, and educational resources available at Mason. Working collaboratively with Compliance, Diversity, and Ethics (CDE) and Information Technology Services (ITS), they develop university-wide access strategies and ensure compliance with WCAG 2.0 and Section 508 standards.
Disability Services (DS)
DS provides reasonable accommodations and disability-related services to Mason students, affording equal access to university programs and activities. DS serves all students with disabilities, including cognitive, sensory, mobility, and other physical or mental impairments. Students who seek course accommodations must register with DS and inform their instructor(s), in writing, at the beginning of each semester.
