Program Description
The Advanced International Baccalaureate (AIB) concentration provides advanced professional development for teachers on the philosophy, elements, and assessments of the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Diploma Programme (DP). The coursework focuses on the theory, pedagogy, and research undergirding the International Baccalaureate programs.
This Advanced Studies in Teaching and Learning (ASTL) master’s program is designed for teachers with one or more years of teaching or education-related experience who want to continue growing professionally. The program offers advanced study in a specific concentration area, including Virginia’s Standards of Learning content areas, cohort classes, an innovative schedule, and the use of technology.
What it costs
The cost for this program is $693.25 per credit hour for VA state residents, $893.25 per credit hour for Non-VA residents. There is a 15% PreK-12 VA Educators Discount available for VA state residents who are eligible and apply. See the Cost tab below for a breakdown of tuition and fees. Application Deadline
This program has a priority application deadline of April 1 for Fall and November 1 for Spring. The space available deadlines are August 15 for Fall and January 14 for Spring. For all application information and deadlines, see the CEHD Admissions site.
