Earning a bachelor of science in business from George Mason University’s School of Business prepares you to work in a rapidly changing and competitive marketplace. The program offers eight innovative concentrations—accounting, business analytics, finance, financial planning and wealth management, management information systems, marketing, and operations and supply chain management—so you can focus your studies to meet your personal and professional goals.

The Business (BS) seeks students who have an interest in the field of business as a whole. The curriculum allows students to have a better understanding of each field of business, while growing in their leadership abilities. Students earn academic credit in courses related to: accounting, business leadership, finance, information systems and operations management, and marketing.

Transfer credits are accepted for many general education (Mason Core) and business foundation courses that have been completed at a regionally-accredited institution of higher education. Please use the Transfer Credit Matrix to check course equivalency.

  • 21 credits Mason Core courses
  • 27-28 credits business foundations courses
  • 24 credits business core courses
  • 18-19 credits general elective courses
  • 21 credits major requirements in management courses
  • 3 credits capstone course

A minimum of 45 credits must be upper-level courses (300- or 400-level).

A grade of C or higher earned in the business foundations, business core and major requirements

A minimum of 30 credits of School of Business core and major courses at Mason.

At least 9 credits required for the specific major and BUS 498 Capstone Course: Advanced Business Models (Mason Core) taken at Mason.
