Health and Wellness
Stay healthy no matter how you learn
Student health and wellness is the foundation for success in the Mason community. Several units strive to promote wellness, healthy lifestyle choices, and a culture of safety at Mason. Although they most commonly work with students in person, they each offer options for Mason’s online learners.

Student Health Services (SHS)
SHS offers after-hours nurse advice for online students. If you happen to be on campus for an orientation or a test, you can also schedule an appointment to see a health care provider at no charge. Certain fees may apply for additional services.

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)
CAPS offers a range of psychological, learning, and multicultural services for Mason students. CAPS does not offer services online or over the phone, but there are several online resources available. Get help choosing a provider, see their Wellness Podcasts and Videos, and browse other helpful resources. Don’t see a resource that you need? Call CAPS at 703-993-2380.

Student Support and Advocacy Center (SSAC)
SSAC (formerly WAVES) helps students develop and maintain healthy lifestyles through one-on-one support, interactive programs, and resources. They can help you address topics including healthy relationships, sexual assault, sexual health, stress management, nutrition, or drug and alcohol use.
