Who should apply?

The Department of Psychology seeks students who are interested in studying the brain and behavior. Required coursework will provide students with a background in Psychology to prepare them for a wide range of careers, including graduate school, research, human resources, data analysis, marketing, and more.

Financial Aid

Various course and lab fees may be assessed depending on the course(s) in which the student is enrolled. Please refer to the Students Accounts Office website for more information on tuition and fees.

For information regarding grants, tuition waivers and other merit aid, please inquire with your graduate department. Additionally, your current employer may provide tuition reimbursement opportunities for graduate studies.

Why choose George Mason?

Our program is unique in that we offer concentrations to better prepare students for a career in the field. Psychology majors are encouraged, though not required, to choose a concentration from the following areas: Clinical Psychology, Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience, Developmental Psychology, Educational Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Health Psychology, Human Factors Psychology, or Work/Organizational Psychology. Further, our courses are inclusive of students in the online program and students who live in the Fairfax area but are taking courses online and taught by the same faculty and instructors who teach on-ground. So, Mason Online students are receiving the same quality of course work and instruction as they would if they were physically on campus.
