Courses for Mason’s online MBA are offered in convenient, part-time online asynchronous format. An optional, in-person, one-week residency abroad can be used to satisfy the global course requirement. A graduate certificate in Business Analytics can also be built into the MBA curriculum.

The online MBA’s optional global residency gives students to the opportunity to travel for a week abroad, visiting and studying companies in a foreign country while completing a team project. To complete the global course requirement, students who cannot travel abroad take the online International Business Strategy course.
Certificate in Business Analytics
An optional certificate in Business Analytics can be integrated into the overall curriculum. Areas of emphasis include the collection, study, and delivery of data to help students make better business decisions and predictions in their future roles.
Please note that students are responsible for airfare to and from the residency location. Lodging, transportation during the residency, and some meals are included with tuition.
Tuition & Fees (2019-2020):
Tuition is $998 per credit hour. An additional charge of $35 per credit hour applies for a Distance Learning fee.

GMAT/GRE Waiver Information
Candidates who have demonstrated through work experience and/or academic background that they have a strong quantitative background may apply for a GMAT/GRE waiver. We look at previous academic performance, undergraduate major, post undergraduate degrees, and amount and type of professional work experience when evaluating waiver requests. Please see below the graduate exam essay instructions.
In no fewer than 500 words, please explain to the admissions committee your quantitative background. Include previous and/or current quantitative/analytical academic courses completed as well as grades received at the undergraduate, graduate, certificate, or non-degree level. In addition, include an example of a professional experience that demonstrates your quantitative skills. Describe to the committee and provide examples of your ability to communicate in a strong written and oral capacity. Be sure to list any earned certifications.
You must first submit an application to the online MBA program. You will be notified via email if you do or do not qualify for the GMAT/GRE waiver after your application has been completed.
Can I take courses without applying?
Only students who are admitted to the School of Business’ MBA program may take classes in the program.
How long does it take to complete the program?
The part-time online MBA is 48 credit hours and can be completed in less than 3 years.
How much does the program cost?
$998 per credit hour for a full tuition cost of $49,584.
When are classes held?
MBA classes for part-time online students are offered in an asynchronous format, meaning they can be viewed interactively at your convenience. However, students still must meet all study deliverable requirements and deadlines.
What accreditation do George Mason and the MBA program hold?
George Mason University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees. The MBA program is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business Accreditation Standards.
How much does it cost to apply?
While there is a $75 application fee, there are multiple times throughout the year that the fee may be waived.
